This safari covers Nairobi city and national park, the Great Rift Valley, Lake Nakuru, which is home to hundreds of thousands of flamingos, pelicans and numerous other birdlife, Lake Naivasha, and Hell’s Gate. You will also visit the Masai Mara, which has been declared one of the Seven Wonders of the World for its spectacular wildebeest migration.
Arrival in Nairobi
We arrive in Nairobi and are transferred to our hotel for overnight stay in the city, which boasts the largest bird list of any city on earth! Nairobi is a diverse and exciting urban setting for you to spend one or two days exploring the many attractions within the city limits. A guided city tour takes you to some of the most distinct attractions with a skilled and experienced guide that not only ensures your safety, but also efficiently navigates the high traffic roads, allowing you to enjoy all that Nairobi has to offer. You will have dinner and spend a night at Serena Hotel Nairobi
Day 2 Nairobi National Park
We visit Nairobi national park and then continue with our exploration of the Great Rift Valley lakes. Bird species Highlights may include Von der Decken’s Hornbill and the multicolored Red-and-yellow Barbet, African crested cranes, African fish eagle, kori bustard, secretary bird, marabou stork, Rüppell’s vulture, martial eagle, great white pelican, Egyptian goose, hadada ibis, sacred ibis, malachite kingfisher, wagtail, yellow billed stork, go away bird, hamerkop, Madagascar bee-eater, plovers.
Day 3 Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru
Get ready for early morning game drive, then you will return for a late breakfast and then depart for Lake Nakuru National Park. If time permits you can go on a boat ride to Lake Naivasha’s Crescent Island. You will have your dinner and overnight stay at the Lanet Matfam Hotel for budget or Golden Palace for Mid-range.
Day 4 Nakuru-Lake Naivasha national park
After an early breakfast you will spend the morning in Lake Nakuru National Park, where you will have the chance to see some of the 350 bird species that have been recorded here. This is also home to the black and white rhinoceros. Indeed, this park was established for the protection of species such as the rhino, Columbus monkeys, leopards, giraffes and a variety of plain antelope. Afterwards you will depart to the nearby Lake Naivasha, eating a picnic lunch along the way. You will then relax and get ready for dinner and overnight stay at Taphe Guest House.
Day 5 Naivasha-Hell’s gate-Nairobi
You will have an early breakfast then proceed to Hell’s Gate National Park, where you will have a chance to visit the geothermal power plant in Ol Karia and the hot springs. This is the only park that allows you to get around on foot or bike as you may wish. You may go on an optional boat ride to Crescent Island, where you can watch hippos and other wild animals. After lunch you will start a journey to Nairobi and will be dropped off at your hotel.
